A major national conference focusing on mathematics research will take place at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) this summer.
It is the first time the British Society for Research into Learning Mathematics (BSRLM) has held its summer conference in Wales.
UWTSD’s Swansea Business School will host the event on Saturday, June 9 from 10am-5pm.
Yr Athrofa’s Dr Jane Waters, Assistant Dean of Research and Knowledge Transfer, will be one of the keynote speakers on the preceding New Researchers Day on Friday, June 8 from 10am-5.45pm.
Both days provide a unique opportunity for participants to develop their professional learning and network with fellow professionals within the important field of mathematics.
Delegates also have the chance to present at the conference – the deadline for submitting a proposal for a Research Paper, Research Workshop or Working Group session is 5pm on Friday, May 11.
Event host and Yr Athrofa senior lecturer in mathematics Helen Denny said: “We are excited to be hosting the BSRLM summer conference this year – the first time it has been held in Wales.
“There are plenty of opportunities to contribute to the event – and we would love to see you there for at least one of the days if not both!”
The BSRLM is a member organisation for people interested in research in mathematics education and provides a supportive environment for both new and experienced researchers to develop their ideas.
Conference tickets cost £25 to BSRLM members, before June 1. Details of the New Researchers Day can be found here and further details of the main conference can be found here.
